1. 表示“到达”,是不及物动词。如:
When I arrived Ann had just left. 我到的时候,安刚刚离开。
Must I arrive there before it gets dark? 我必须要在天黑前抵达吗?
2. 要表示“到达某地”,通常要用介词 at(一般用于较小的地方)或in(一般用于较大的地方)。如:
We arrived in London in the morning. 早上我们抵达伦敦。
We arrived at the airport too early for our flight. 我们赶航班到达机场太早了。
3. arrive, get, reach 的区别:
(1) arrive 和 get 为不及物动词,前者较正式,后者则较口语化;两者之后均不可接宾语,但可接 here, there, home 之类的表地点的副词作状语;要表示到达某地,需借助适当介词:arrive at [in] a place, get to a place等。
(2) reach 为及物动词,其后可直接跟地点名词作宾语(不能用介词),同时它也可后接here, there, home等词。
